A well-established retail company based in Derby are recruiting an Accounts & Office Manager to join their friendly team on a part-time basis.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate & smooth running of the finance department, managing two members of staff. The main duties are as follows:

* Responsible for all financial activities including preparing and delivering accurate financial information

* Managing the accounts team to ensure they deliver their objectives

* Ensuring accounts receivable are collected promptly and in a timely manner

* Maintain an up to date purchase ledger

* Processing of sales invoices and sales ledger control in line with business requirements

* Carrying out credit control duties to meet debtor targets

* Preparation of VAT returns and submission of these within HMRC timeframes

* Forecasting finances and risk analysis and presentation of this to the management team

* Preparation of payroll and processing of staff expenses, collating new employee payment details and liaising with accountants

* Bank reconciliation

* Stock taking of items in warehouse and shop floor, including collating the information and reconciling costs with stock levels to ensure records of accurate stock levels are maintained

* Producing monthly management reports

* Training staff members on financial systems

The successful candidate will have good solid all round experience coupled with previous team management. Sage system experience is required, and strong Excel skills would be preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and wishes to secure a varied role within a small, friendly business.

The role is part time and would suit someone looking to work between 22 and 30 hours per week. The hours of work can be flexible depending on the candidate’s requirements.

Salary £30,000 - £32,000 Full Time Equivalent
