We’re working on behalf of a fantastic local company that provide a range of insightful business support services to its clients. The friendly team pride themselves on their reputation as a knowledgeable, innovative and approachable organisation and are looking for a talented Finance Manager to join them.
We’re interested in hearing from accomplished and skilled financial management professionals who would like to combine their accountancy expertise with a flair for client communication. This is an opportunity which offers the chance of involvement and input into wider commercial planning and project work.
Duties and responsibilities:
There’s plenty of variety in this role. You’ll manage and control the accounting and financial management services provided to clients, as well as providing supportive leadership to your team as follows:
* Promoting the services of the company and assisting in developing both the client base and associated fee income levels
* Providing relevant accounting and financial support and guidance to clients as required
* Coordinating the accurate and timely production of the monthly management accounts as relevant to client(s) specification
* Accurately preparing annual budgets, forecasts, weekly and monthly reports as relevant to client specification
* Providing clients with adequate management information and feedback including review of income, margins, costs and KPIs to support their visibility of the performance of their business
* Overseeing the ongoing development and maintenance of software utilised to provide client solutions
* Ensuring that the following financial activities are delivered in a timely and meticulous fashion:
* Accurately recording and reconciliation of client transactions on a frequent basis
* Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
* Maintenance of client payroll and appropriate preparation and payment of PAYE and NIC
* Preparation and submission of VAT returns
* Arranging for all client compliance matters to be dealt with promptly by the accounting support partner
* Managing the team of client accountants, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their work and activities, making improvements wherever possible to meet business demands
* Carrying out one to one’s and PDRs for team members creating opportunities for personal development where possible
Skills and experience required:
* The role would ideally suit someone recently qualified CIMA / ACCA or qualified by experience with a full range of accounting & financial management experience gained from roles within industry or from a client-centric practice
* Able to take a client-focused approach, having worked directly with clients before
* Extensive proven career background in a financial management role, with a full range of management accounting experience, ideally within a consumer-focused business
* Evidence of delivering effective team leadership and support
* Interested and proficient in providing insightful analytical information, with examples of how this has been of benefit and value in previous roles
* Demonstrate a talent for explaining business performance in a clear and engaging manner
* Ambitious and aspirational approach, keen to identify opportunities for the growth and development of the company
Hours of work:
* Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary and benefits:
* Up to £45,000 – dependent upon experience
* On-site car parking
* 25 days annual holiday + 8 bank holidays
