This established business are presently expanding and are currently seeking a legal governance manager to join their Cheltenham office. This company is a leading employer with a modern and progressive approach.
Your new role
Leading the information governance team, you will be responsible for the company's information security management system. Working to develop and manage the data protection strategy, you will create new policies and procedures relating to data protection and information security. In addition to sustaining an up-to-date and fully implemented data policy, you act as a key point of engagement on data policy issues, with both internal and external stake holders. Reporting into the Head of Legal and Governance, you will also review and provide feedback on third party contracts and data licences and line manage a direct report.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have proven experience of information governance and excellent legislative, policy and practical information governance knowledge. You will be familiar with all aspects of relevant data protection law and policy/guidance and will ideally have experience of managing a team. You will have a degree or equivalent qualification; you may be an ICSA graduate or a lawyer/experienced paralegal with experience of a comparable role. You will be able to work autonomously and use your initiative to be pro-active in giving advice, whilst prioritising your workload and maintaining strong attention to detail. You will have exceptional communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
