The Firm

  • We are Chartered Accountants. Chartered Management Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers.
  • This role provides a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and forward-thinking modern Practice working in our client services team in a busy, friendly office environment.

The Role

  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of existing and new clients
  • Working mainly on Xero but also occasionally other accounting systems, Quickbooks, Sage etc
  • Occasional help with client’s bookkeeping and sales and purchase invoice processing
  • Completion of bank & credit card reconciliations
  • Posting monthly journals such as payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments along with month end procedures and reports
  • Preparation of VAT calculations for different VAT schemes and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of year end accounts for Limited Companies and Sole Traders
  • Liaising regularly with clients responding to queries and providing general advice
  • To assist the directors generally in ensuring that required service levels for all clients are met

The Requirements

  • You should be methodical with an eye for detail
  • Work to established processes and procedures
  • Have great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and numerical reasoning
  • Have minimum of 3 years previous experience working in Practice
  • Be familiar with Xero (Xero certification would be a distinct advantage)
  • Qualified AAT or qualified by experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience delivering excellent service levels to clients
  • Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines

The target salary banding will be circa £22,000 -26,000 per annum, 5% employer pension contributions along with 20 days annual holiday.
