The company currently offers specialist preclinical contract research services to Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies focused on drug development in the fields of Immuno-Oncology, Immunology and Regeneration, delivering bespoke projects to answer scientific questions. The team also includes a specialised Histology group that spans preclinical and clinical research.

Job Summary:
This position is a hybrid role at the Edinburgh site with key responsibilities across general laboratory management, facilities management and finance administration. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with the scientific and management team as required. The tasks of the role are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to undertake other relevant administrative duties as requested by management.

Key Tasks:
General Laboratory Management (Approximately 40%)

- Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of supplies and materials, maintaining stock levels necessary for the optimal performance of all aspects of the work undertaken in the company within budgetary constraints.
- Working with the Group Purchasing Manager to ensure discounts are achieved across key products used in the team.
- Working with the Lab manager to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of resources required within the Edinburgh site for experimental project work to be conducted.
- Facilitation of capital expenditure requests and purchase of equipment or supplies that may improve services or capacity.
- Negotiation of service contracts for equipment.
- Line management of scientific administrator support staff as the site expands.

Facilities Management (Approximately 40%)

- Management of the facilities within the rental accommodations as required by tenants (e.g. rent, rates and amenities).
- Maintain the archive and archive database and efficiently check-in/check-out raw data and reports to authorised staff.
- Support of facilitation of future on-site IT requirements under the guidance of Head of IT.
- Contribute to the planning process of the facility in response to organisational change.

Finance Administration (Approximately 20%)

- Responsible for establishing relevant client accounts contacts, sales invoicing and credit control for the Edinburgh site.
- Regular communication with the group finance team.
- Establishing efficient working practices with purchasing platforms.

- Demonstrable high attention to detail
- Life science sector knowledge
- Excellent administration skills
- Recognised bookkeeping qualification
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
