Job Title: Portfolio Manager

Location: Surrey with some Travel

Package: Excellent Salary & benefits

My client requires a Portfolio Manager to manage a portfolio of Software development & IT projects, responsible for managing & leading a team of project managers.

Key responsibilities:

* Planning and management of the portfolio as required

* Delivery of all projects within the portfolio to the agreed cost, time, scope, quality and security constraints

* Monthly review of status of projects within the portfolio.

* Acting as initial point of contact for the escalation of project delivery issues

* Management and escalation of risks and issues for risk registers

* Provision of performance feedback and coaching for project managers

Key Skills:

* Leadership skills to motivate teams of people in a matrix structure to deliver outputs on time, to quality and to the effort estimates provided

* Demonstrable experience of successfully managing and delivering a large portfolio of IT projects

* Experience and understanding of waterfall, agile and hybrid development methodologies

* Evident experience and knowledge of quality-centric software development

* Expert knowledge and experience of scope control and change management

* Demonstrable knowledge of complex financial reporting

* Experience of stakeholder management up to board level

* Experience of supply chain management

* Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills

* Excellent understanding of finance (e.g. revenue recognition, cash-flow, payment milestones)

* Certified PRINCE2 practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent practical experience of project management
