Job description:

Environmental Advisor – 12 month fixed term contract

Based Boston, Lincolnshire

Triton Knoll is an Innogy-owned offshore wind farm, located 32kms off the Lincolnshire coast. It has a planned installed capacity of 860MW, capable of supplying the equivalent of over 800,000 UK households per year, with renewable electricity.

The installation will present one of the biggest engineering challenges of its kind, with almost 60kms of underground cable to install, and over 300 obstacles to be crossed by individual horizontal direction drills – three times more than what’s believed to be the previous UK record for an infrastructure project.

The role:

Act as the Environmental expert and advise on Triton Knoll
Establish and promote best practice in safety, health, environmental, sustainability and quality (SHESQ) matters in conjunction with the SHESQ function
Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their responsibilities for the SHESQ of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Legislation and Company Procedures
Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
Support management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans
Carry out regular inspections of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions
Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
Collate Business / Contract SHESQ statistics in a timely manner and submit to the SHESQ Management & SHESQ function for reporting purpose

Skills/ Experience

Experience in an Environmental Specialist/Advisor role
Qualified with an Environmental Degree
An understanding of the demands of a multi-site role in a hands-on Advisor capacity
Working towards IEMA is desirable
Some knowledge of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards (Desirable)
