We're recruiting for an experienced Controls Commissioner, working for a Banbury-based tech business.

The Role

The Controls Commissioner will be responsible for the commissioning of control systems. The scope of this job is be able to assist site supervisors in the commissioning phase of these control systems, either on site or remotely.

The role requires the ability to make small PLC and software changes, in line with all current programming standards. They should also be able to assist the customer in correctly configuring the system, to ensure the customer receives the best from the software in both logistics and stability. This should then be fed back directly to the R&D department, in order to assist in future development strategies.

The role will need a willingness to travel both throughout the UK & abroad

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning controls software - remotely & on sites worldwide
  • Attend sites as part of scheduled commissioning
  • Commissioning site meetings
  • Provide systems training for customer & project team
  • Validating safety systems
  • Support site supervisors with new electrical / control features
  • Complete all relevant commission documentation
  • Develop controls software, including testing and recording all test information
  • Work closely with design, production, procurement and installation teams

Skills & Experience

  • Similar practical experience of industrial or automated systems
  • Apprenticeship trained
  • Electrical experience
  • Strong understanding of control systems management
  • Technical knowledge - PLC & SCADA software programming, HMI, PLC programming, electrical & PLC system design
  • Further desirable but not essential technical skills include C# & SQL programming
  • German language skills advantageous
  • Good decision maker
  • Communicator skills
  • Able to work effectively, with little supervision
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Flexibility
  • Attention to detail
  • Full UK driving license
