Technical Business Analyst
Our IT Department underpins the operations of Skipton Building Society and allows us to utilise technology to better serve our customers. Implementing and maintaining critical IT capabilities for both Head Office and our nationwide Branch Network, we are launching an exciting new role within our IT Change Delivery function and are seeking two talented and experienced Technical Business Systems Analysts.
This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of Skipton Building Society through the delivery of a variety of large scale complex projects, and the associated business change introduced from introducing new IT capability.
You will be responsible for identifying, documenting and communicating the impacts of project-related technical change, from a people, process and IT perspective. You will support the delivery of the IT department’s portfolio of projects in projects’ embryonic stages and provide crucial two-way communication and technical translation between identified business needs and technical capabilities.
As part of the role we expect you to foster and enhance strong working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues alike. This will help when selecting and engaging with third party suppliers to ensure best value is achieved for the Society. Another key part of this role will also be identifying and anticipating operational and regulatory risk and managing these accordingly.
You will inspire and engage project colleagues as well as key stakeholders through the promotion of the Society’s objectives, values and behaviours, and contribute towards our high-performance culture. This will be done by challenging, monitoring and championing best practice across IT Change Delivery as well as wider departments.
The ideal candidate will have proven and relevant experience of performing a technical analyst role in a similarly complex and sized organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in documenting Use Cases and adopting Microsoft Visio to produce process flow information, as well as the ability to evaluate technical solutions, produce evaluation and selection processes as part of formal procurement processes.
Ideally, you will be skilled in formal business and technical requirements capture and have knowledge and experience of formal testing methodologies and processes.
You will have a strong technical understanding of the following technologies: A broad range of IT knowledge with exposure and experience of implementing multiple technologies, including: Microsoft Windows Server technologies, Microsoft Windows Desktop technologies, Microsoft Application Stack (PowerShell, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, SCCM, SCOM), Microsoft O365, VMware technologies, Cisco Server and Networking technologies, Palo Alto Firewalls, Sophos End Point Protection, Mobile Device Management, HPE Storage technologies, Wireless technologies, F5 Load balancing technologies and VoIP technologies.
Critically we are seeking an excellent communicator, with strong facilitation skills and the ability to interpret, analyse and share requirements across all levels of the organisation and with third parties where relevant.
