A major defence company in Hampshire are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to come on board with the company as a Procurement Associate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry level candidate or somebody with 1-2 years experience, wishing to begin a career in procurement and work for one of the world's leading defence companies alongside an outstanding and supportive team.

The position will be responsible for obtaining quotes and placing orders. Following up on all awards through completion of order. Reviewing proposals, negotiating prices, selecting and recommending suppliers, analysing trends, and maintaining necessary records. Preparing request for proposals (RFP)
and bid packages. Following applicable anti-corruption ethics, laws, and regulations.

The successful candidate will need to be able to obtain UK SC clearance

SCOPE:

Will take day to day direction from an experienced procurement specialist. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Assist in improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to the achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Execute activities in support of manufacturing and engineering requirements, inventory goals and enhanced supplier performance.

* Placing, updating, and expediting Orders.

* Solicits supplier price, lead time and delivery quotations.

* Performs follow-up function to ensure delivery and quality compliance.

* Bids material cost in support of divisional requirements.

* Execute issue resolution associated with planning and procurement activities.

* Materials or Products--Manage outside resources for the planning and procurement of materials within company policies and procedures to support division requirements.

EXPERIENCE / ACHIEVEMENTS

Desirable

* Previous/demonstrable experience in a Procurement role

* Proven experience in complex, multi-cultural and matrix managed organisation

* Experience purchasing Mechanical, Electronic, and Hardware Material

* Familiar with Defense electronics

* ITAR regulations and international shipping requirements.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

Essential

* Microsoft Office Competency

* Good Communication skills, both writing and speaking

Desired

* ERP/MRP Experience

* Familiar with Agile, Windchill, Siebel Service, Vantage, and or Oracle Service

EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

* Degree qualified or equivalent
