Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to join their team based in central Bournemouth. They are offering a salary of £40,000-£50,000 per annum depending on experience along with great benefits.

The Role

As their Financial Controller you will ensure effective strategic and operational financial planning, monitoring and reporting to enhance the decision making process of the Senior Management Team. You will also ensure the company complies with all statutory and external requirements and regulations.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your role as Financial Controller will include;

- Working with all other functions across the business in creating the culture of a leading finance team

- Driving the profit margins of the business, increasing the value generated from spend

- Day to day running of the company’s finance department

- Management accounting and reporting, budgeting and performance monitoring

- Tight management of company cashflow, accounts payable/receivable and payroll cycle

- Board reporting

- Line management and development of the Finance team

- Providing accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial information to senior management and the Board

- Commercial analysis beyond normal management accounts to demonstrate within the sales process where value is created / destroyed

- Undertaking ad-hoc financial analysis from time to time

- Coordination of external reporting and ext audit

- Operation of AP, AR and payroll.

- Embedding business policies & procedures to ensure robust control of all aspects of the company’s finances

- Ensuring key financial issues are raised for discussion at Board

- Understand and comply with all relevant rules, regulation and legislation applicable to your role

Our client’s ideal Financial Controller:

- A professional accountancy qualification (ICAEW/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent experience is required.

- Technical accounting expertise

- Strong commercial experience

- Understanding of operational risks and controls

- Highly effective communication skills

- Competent Microsoft Office skills, particularly excel

- Analytical thinking
