Service Desk Manger - North Yorkshire - £30-£45k - MSP

Reed Technology have been retained to search for a talented Service Desk / Service Improvement manager for growing national MSP in the North Yorkshire area.

You will be heading up the internal Service Desk Function and be a key figure in the business to drive change and service improvement - leading a team of 4x analysts with a large escalation team for more serious issues.

The purpose of the Service Desk Manager is to develop, lead, and motivate a team of Service Desk professionals to deliver excellent technical support for national clients.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

* The role of SDM will require frequent contact with customers, direct reports, peers, and independent vendors.
* The SDM will also be required to provide support to the Infrastructure Team, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising all local and wide area network connections, servers, associated software, and communication links including our telephony systems.
* The Service Desk Manager will also be responsible for ensuring support for existing and emerging information and communications technology (ICT) services, including providing technical advice to project teams.

What skills are we looking for?

* University degree in relevant field and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
* Proven people management skills.
* Experience of managing suppliers in outsourcing contracts.
* ITIL V3 Foundation Service Management qualification.
* In depth understanding of all standard Windows networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
* Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards.
* Knowledge of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures.
* Experience of managing suppliers in outsourcing contracts.
* Extensive client/server and operating system experience with Microsoft. Operating Systems/Applications including Hyper V, Exchange, SQL and MSA's.
* Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience.
* Knowledge and experience of VoIP systems and integration an advantage.
