Charity Shop Manager
A Store Manager role in Wythenshawe for a well-known charity
Your new company
Hays is excited to be working exclusively with a not-for-profit organisation who do an awful lot of good for the communities they're based in. They have a variety of both clothing and furniture stores and a strong online presence. They are now looking for a Store Manager to take charge of the day-to-day running of one of their stores. The store is based on a busy high-street and is supported by a team of dedicated full-time and volunteer members of staff.
Your new role
As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the store with the aim of bringing in donations, selling goods, and making the most money you can to support the charity. You will be a role model to your team, responsible for the recruitment and training of paid and volunteer staff. You will work to targets to drive performance and improve sales. The company will give you as much support or autonomy you need to run your store - if you think there's a better way to do things, they'll let you do it! You will have control over your own merchandising, window dressing, staff incentives and other areas. You will be responsible for banking, opening / closing and store admin.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have some store leadership experience, ideally you will be working already at Store Manager level for another not-for-profit retailer but alternatively if you have been at department manager or assistant store manager level and were looking to grow your experience in store management this would be an ideal opportunity to do so. It would be beneficial if you had working knowledge of Gift Aid. You should ideally hold a full driving licence and have access to a car. With any Store Manager role, there will be some weekend and holiday working required with some opening and closing responsibilities, so you will need the flexibility to support this.
What you'll get in return
The company will give you as much support or autonomy you need to run your store. As you will be working in the not for profit sector, you'll have the knowledge that your time and dedication to this role will be making a real difference to people's lives and giving back to the community. You will receive a salary of £18,000.
