Management Account Job, Bangor, Gwynedd

We are seeking a focused and enthusiastic individual who is a natural leader, takes ownership of tasks and exceeds expectations to provide Maternity cover for this Management Accountant job based in Bangor.

Supporting the Finance Director, your position will have responsibility for overseeing the finance functions of a dynamic and expanding businesses.


Preparation of monthly management accounts including reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
Cash flow management (weekly/monthly).
Ensure the completion and timely delivery of VAT returns and CIS returns.
Preparation of monthly reconciliation to the ledgers.
Bank loan workings and preparation of bank covenants
Oversee input of various service charge packs for inclusion in the management accounts
Co-ordinate the annual audit process including liaison with auditors.
Ensure customer/supplier procedures and processes including invoice authorisation/payment guidelines are adhered to.
Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with accepted policies and procedures.
Assist the Managing Director in the establishment and monitoring of accounting controls.
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analyses of revenues and expenses.
Analyse financial information to ensure the efficient use of resources and to make recommendations where necessary.
Management of a small finance team.
Provide training to new and existing staff as required.
Responsible for company secretarial matters, including the preparation and filing of Annual Returns
To provide support to all business areas as required.
To manage and prioritise tasks.
To carry out ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Managing Director.

To be considered, applicants should demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Experience of working in a commercial environment
Property experience highly desirable
Previous Accounts management experience.
Multi company accounting experience, including complex intercompany reconciliations
Ability to delegate and monitor the team’s workload.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisation and communication skills.
Working knowledge and understanding of Sage 50 accounting software.
Ability to solve problems, exercise judgement and work to deadlines.

This is a full-time role to be based at in Bangor on a 12 month contract to provide Maternity Cover. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8am -5pm and Friday 8am - 3:30pm with a Salary of up to £35,000 per annum dependent on Experience
