Job Title: Africa Sales Executive

Location: Cirencester

Salary: circa £25,000 + bonus

My client, a local engineering company specialising in the manufacture of bespoke machinery are currently looking for a Sales Executive to join their African sales department on a permanent basis.

They are based in a rural location and so a driving licence is essential for the role. The role will also involve occasional short visits away from office; factory, exhibitions etc. and potential growth into sales trips overseas. Training will be carried out at desk/ meeting room/ factory/ R&D workshop/ showroom/ (possible) site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Generating interest and sales in Africa, with focus on Nigeria, using market research

• Responding to enquiries and offering support to existing and potential clients alike

• Supporting the departmental Sales Manager, and colleagues with other markets in Africa

• Directly handling the African sales enquiries: logging enquiries, responding by email and telephone, extracting further information from the client

• Generating quotations in Excel, and sending covering emails

• Following up previous enquiries from shows and web

• Coordinating and managing engineers’ movements

• Planning for installations and commissioning works – with Client Support Manager

• Contacting all clients in Nigeria – offering follow up support

• Handling spare parts enquiries – gathering information for Sales Administrator to process spares orders

• Occasional processing of parts to despatch via DHL – working with Administrator, Stores and Despatch teams, and remote engineers

• Organising service visits and ensuring clients are invoiced

• Building working cost analysis spreadsheets for regular products showing potential payback period of equipment

• Driving; collecting clients from train stations (occasionally Heathrow)

• Factory tours – taking clients around the factory

• Writing up meeting notes

Ideally you will have some sort of an interest in/experience of Africa to a lesser or larger extent as you will be joining the Africa sales department. An exposure to the agriculture industry or a technical background would also be beneficial for the role.
