Production Engineer - Newport South East Wales

£Competitive Salary + Bonus + 33 Days Holiday + Pension

The Company

Primary Purpose of Role:The role will be focused upon supporting the production of high value capital equipment. To maximise production uptime the Engineer will investigate and address BOM, technical and quality issues reacting in real-time, and be expected to analyse and prevent issues occurring in future. The candidate will be involved in Lean Manufacturing projects and New Product Introduction activities.

Key Behavioural Competencies:

The candidate must be highly self-motivated with the drive to be able to deliver fully documented solutions to complex problems. They will have knowledge of driving root cause analysis when posed with a problem from manufacturing and be able to build excellent relationships with manufacturing teams allowing them to provide and embed solutions to those problems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create maintenance and training plans for Shopfloor test equipment, lifting gear and safety equipment.
- Support and document new product introduction to Manufacturing.
- Raise ECOs in response to problems identified and implement solutions using Agile PLM.
- Optimize manufacturing driving reductions in Touch Labour content and improvement in Overall Labour Effectiveness (OLE).
- Run projects to solve known issues working with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Design and Production Engineering

Skills and Experience:

The candidate will be experienced as a Production/Manufacturing Engineer, ideally with a good electrical background. Other key skills:

- Experience with Semiconductor industry plasma processing based capital equipment is desirable.
- Good written and presentational skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex issues.
- Familiarity with a relevant CAD package eg. SolidEdge, Solid Works or Autocad Electrical would be advantageous.
- Good skills in regard to Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail, organised and able to prioritise their own workload

Qualifications:Degree qualified in Production/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
