Your new employer
A SME construction business in Carlisle are looking to appoint a Company Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the finance function. The business has been established for over 30 years and have recently entered new markets, their newest division has doubled in size in the last 2 years with further plans for expansion.
Your role in your new job
As Company Accountant, you will report to the Board of Directors and manage the daily operation of the finance department, managing a small team. This is a hands on and varied role covering management and statutory accounts production being the first point of contact for key stakeholders including bank and auditors. You will manage the working capital position and prepare periodic cash flow forecasts.
There are also commercial and business facing aspects in this role. Whilst all processes are in place and efficient, there is room for process enhancements to further improve the efficiencies and financial control and your role will drive these changes. You will also support the Board with strategic plans for growth and communicate with various internal stakeholders to deliver meaningful financial information.
Your experience and our requirements
To be considered, you will be experienced in a similar level role and supervisory experience is highly desirable. Whilst experience of the construction industry isn’t essential, it is highly advantageous along with knowledge of CIS. Strong systems skills including Excel are essential as well as knowledge of Sage 50.
