Sales & Marketing / Commercial Assistant

A new position is available for a sales/marketing/commercial assistant with this dynamic, fast paced, entrepreneurial, award-winning logistics company. The role would suit a Sales & Marketing graduate/2nd jobber with sales/marketing or commercial assistant experience. A forwarding or logistics background would be beneficial but not essential.

Position Overview

  • You will be actively involved in all aspects of marketing and sales support, including event planning, website management and logistics bids and pricing

  • You will be working closely with the Sales Operations Manager, Marketing Director and Vice President Sales and Marketing APAC and EMEA Regions

Responsibilities:

  • Be a key part of the UK tender team to gather rates and prepare bid responses.

  • Review all data and documentation within tender documents for accuracy and completion.

  • Assist in the creation of staff and customer communications, creating content and designing layout.

  • Manage the UK website and source content to update pages regularly.

  • Co-ordinate the design and creation of new brochures, infographics and marketing materials.

  • Support the UK Sales Directors with the creation of marketing materials and presentations.

  • Assist with the organising of events including coordination, marketing materials and invitations.

  • Co-ordination of outsourced creative design projects.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Adaptable: Enjoys working on a variety of projects and with different teams

  • Team Oriented: Able to add value across a range of areas and different team environments

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with client-facing experience

  • Self-Starter: Takes initiative resolving questions/issues when support is not available

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and collaborative skills

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and willing to work late to meet these when required

  • Detail orientated approach to work

  • MS Office: Must be proficient in all of the key Office applications

  • InDesign / Photoshop for creating infographics and brochures

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Advanced Excel experience: formulas and pivot tables.

  • Copywriting experience

  • Familiar with Website Content Management Systems
