The Company:

* An exciting opportunity for a Senior Merchandiser to join an established, homeware company with an excellent reputation. The company offer a competitive salary and benefit package.

The Role:

* Manage a team of Supply Chain administrators and Quality Staff to oversee on new and existing orders on managed across the critical path

* Work with a number of factories in China

* Relay accurate information from the factories in the Far East to the main business

* Manage all aspects of quality control and co-ordinate all inspection

* Frequently consult the Director on any situations that may potentially affect the margin due to alterations

* Accountable for sourcing items and keeping costs low

* Implementing the systems that work with such as sampling workbooks, booking systems, testing portals, and shipping files.

* Work under significant pressure and using initiative to adapt to the contingent nature of the industry.

* Coordinate daily operational activities in screening new product development samples, pre-production samples.

* Negotiate with vendors on price, discount, delivery and working terms.

* Track and review pre-production sample, specs and colour swatches to ensure samples match with required specifications and quality standard.

* Communicate order and new sampling details and requirements to factories and all parties concerned.

* Monitor production process properly to meet quantity, quality, order specifications and delivery dates.

* Diagnose production problems and work with factories to present alternatives to both buyers and management.

* Work with vendors to improve on-time delivery/vendor score card 8. Maintain vendor profile records

* Coordinate with internal departments such as Finance, Marketing & Warehouse to ensure smooth workflow for order follow-up.

* Manage client/vendor relationship inclusive of disputes and claim issues from discovery to resolve

* Source vendors, identify product opportunities, request for and follow up vendor/ factory evaluation.

* Work with the senior team in formulating/implementing strategy to grow business

* Train and supervise overseas quality staff, junior buyers and supply chain administrators

Skills Required:

* Ability to manage a team

* Communication skills both written and oral

* Self and team organisational skills

* IT skills, Microsoft Excel and word

* Analytical skills

* Time management skills

* University Degree or higher 3 years or above merchandising experience in buying offices/agents/ factories based in the Far East

* FMGC minimum 2 year’s experience
