Field Service Engineer (Gas & Generators)
world leader in power generation and temperature control is looking to hire a field service engineer. We are looking for an experienced diesel generator engineer who is gas safety registered and resides in the Wirral / Cheshire region.
The successful candidate's main responsibilities would be to ensure all Gas (and diesel) sets are installed / serviced on a specific site in Cheshire.

Key Responsibilities of the diesel generator engineer (gas safe):
Plans and execute to ensure that installation and commissioning is completed on time
Official hand-over of commissioned projects to the Area Service Centre Manager
Manage installation and commissioning processes in accordance and in compliance with company standards
Complete standard commissioning/monthly reports in a timely manner
Provide Gas (And Diesel) equipment mechanical support
Deliver technical training to regional service engineers
Responsible for stores replenishment and stock level maintenance and planning
Carry out stock counts in line with company schedules
Take part in on call rota for local area
Trouble shooting and repairs to be carried out as per Cummins QuickServe Online & procedures

Qualifications of a diesel generator engineer (gas safe)
Good basic education, with Mathematics and English to GCSE level or an equivalent qualification
Mechanical or Electrical served apprenticeship
Alternatively, a City & Guilds/ONC or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering
If not qualified to above standard, person must still have a good grounding in mechanical/electrical engineering and be willing to undertake training to attain these qualifications
Sufficient hands-on Gas (or Diesel) engine generator experience
Gas Safe Registered/Trained
Gas experience is essential
Diesel experience is desirable
Ability to communicate clearly with both colleagues and customers
Logical fault finding
Ability to work under a low level of supervision
Ability to work under own initiative Good level of PC literacy including basic MS Office applications
Must hold a full valid driving license
Must be able to work out of hours as and when required
Preferred Previous Experience / Skills
Knowledge of Gas (and Diesel) systems
Promoter of continuous improvement philosophy
Solid background in Gas (or Diesel) equipment process and control systems
For those with a strong background in Diesel engines, without Gas experience, Gas training will be provided
