IT Technical Administrator
Our IT team are vital to our business in many ways, not only do they assist their colleagues by supporting and enabling everything from desktop computers and networking to managing infrastructure, they also take care of cyber security and develop applications.
A temporary opportunity has arisen for a Technical Administrator within the Distributed Computing Team based at Elliott Road, Plymouth initially on a 12 month contract. It’s an extraordinary time to be in IT within WPD. As digital transformation continues to accelerate, the Distributed Computing Team is at the centre of this change. This is an exciting role assisting the Technical Specialist with identifying and developing new technologies that improvesthe customer experience using personal computing, printing and software throughout WPD.

The following skills and qualifications would be beneficial:
• Windows 10.
• Microsoft System Centre Configuration Management or other endpoint configuration management software.
• Ability to think creatively and troubleshoot and develop solutions.
• Experience with problem/ticket management systems.
• Knowledge of Windows VPN access solutions like Direct Access or Always On.
• Software packaging using AdminStudio. Knowledge of MSIX, App-V and PSAppDeployTookit would be beneficial.
• Well-developed communication skills (oral & written).
• Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Self-confidence and personal drive.
• Good planning & organisational skills
Previous experience administering personal computing estates, printers and software in an enterprise environment would be advantageous. You should be a team player who is able to make decisions using your own initiative to solve a range of IT related challenges. You must be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills and experience to make a success of this opportunity. As a member of the Distributing Computing Team you may be required to work overtime. As the team supports multiple WPD sites, a driving licence is required.
