We are seeking a Business Development Manager for our client, a leading provider of training development and publications.

You will manage the company sales activities with a particular emphasis on managing and developing new business opportunities in the technical services and support market, which includes technical publications and courseware development.

You will develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the UK and overseas technical training solutions to Defence Aerospace and safety critical industries (such as the rail sector) and maintain close liaison with all sources of pertinent business knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve Sales Objectives

• Manage existing accounts with major customers in UK and overseas

• Identify opportunities for new business

• Implement the company’s marketing and sales plans.

• Monitor competitive tender opportunities and ensure that the company is included on the lists of companies to receive invitations to tender

• Manage the technical responses to pre-qualification questionnaires, formal invitations to tender and subsequent questions for clarification. Co-ordinate the preparation of associated commercial responses with the Commercial Manager

• Other general duties as requested.

DOCUMENTATION/REPORTS:

Provide regular written and verbal reports as requested by the Senior Business Development Manager.

• Prepare and update marketing and sales plans, including reports on new markets, products and areas of operation

• Draft and prepare promotional material including product brochures, executive summaries, articles for publication, editorial copy and news releases

• Compile and present background information to support Bid/No Bid decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

a) Experience:

• Experience in the engineering or related environment

• Working successfully in a Sales and Business development environment

b) Skills:

• Good inter-personal skills

• Good communicator

• Good oral and written communications

c)A clean and current driving licence.
