As our Mechanical Engineer you will support the development of new products and the enhancement of existing technologies through engineering, analysis and research and development projects.

Working hours:

Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:30

Friday: 08:00-13:30

Responsibilities of our Mechanical Engineer will include:

- Providing designed components for operation in high load, high duty cycle environments for long life applications

- Designing test plans and schedules to validate concepts

- Managing projects and carrying out required analysis and verification testing to feed into the product design process

- Leading problem solving and other activities for rapidly resolving quality or performance issues

- Participating in engineering change and concession reviews

- Undertaking reviews ensuring compliance with specification requirements

- Carrying out risk assessment activities for company products

- Supporting internal and external customers with engineering and product data

- Working collaboratively with other company departments to ensure repeatable, reliable manufacture of company products

Skills and experience required by our Mechanical Engineer:

- A good degree (2:1 or 1st) in mechanical engineering or a closely relate discipline

- Minimum of five years’ experience in a commercial R&D-type engineering environment

- Demonstrable experience in h-element FEA code for static structural stress analysis

- 3D CAD modelling, preferably with Solid Edge software.

- A thorough understanding of engineering drawings in terms of reading, understanding and specifying requirements

- An appreciation of part manufacturing and machine assembly methods

- The ability to present results in a clear, unambiguous

- A conceptual understanding of general industrial control techniques and approaches.

- Experience in providing data collection and analysis solutions for research and development projects

- Experience using MRP and other business systems, ideally Syspro.

- An ability to make decisions, use initiative and carry out appropriate actions in line with the company policy

- Experience working in a fast moving environment

- An interest in career development and training within the workplace

- Ability to represent the company externally in a highly professional and credible manner
