An excellent and stimulating role for an experienced Production Engineer to play a key role in an established, expanding manufacturing business, where the emphasis will be on production process / efficiency improvement and investigating the manufacturability of products.

On site manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication and welding.

Key duties of the Production Engineer will include:

* facilitation of efficient manufacture by identifying, sourcing, introducing and maintaining machine tools and equipment, as well as jigs/fixtures, consumables and building services.

* Ensuring continuous improvements to production processes by identifying and implementing method improvements and by maintaining production procedures/bills of materials.

* Carry out feasibility studies in respect of additional or alternative machine tools and other equipment.

* Work closely with colleagues in Design and manufacturing to identify most suitable production methods whilst minimising costs.

* Assist in the design and development of jigs, fixtures, tools and factory layout.

* Maintain and develop a safe working environment.

* Work with the Maintenance Manager to prepare an effective schedule of planned maintenance.

* Contribute to commissioning of new and upgraded machinery, equipment, software and plant, ensuring that all staff are appropriately trained.

Educated to at least HNC/HND level, the Production Engineer should be familiar with CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication processes. You should be CAD literate and be able to demonstrate a deep knowledge of manufacturing/production process. Ideally you will have experience in robotics/automation. Of equal importance will be your enthusiasm and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers
