Conference & Events Sales Planner

Salary is up to £18k.

One of the UK's leading hospitality providers are looking for a Conference & Events Sales Planner on a full-time, temporary basis to cover maternity leave. It is anticipated this this role would be for a minimum six month period and you will be based at the Keepmoat Stadium Doncaster (DN4).

The Conference & Events Sales Planner is responsible for supporting the Sales Manager by providing administrative support and managing enquiries from beginning to end, including show rounds of the facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

To primarily assist the Sales Manager, focusing mostly on managing schedules and the distribution of any sales documentation.

  • Preparing and following up on any sales quotations made for clients, negotiating terms with the client at a cost best suited for them.
  • Efficiently responding to any online or telephone queries.
  • Liaising between other departments and the client to provide the service most suitable to the client's needs, cost and time restraints.
  • Working closely with the Sales Manager to assess the progress of the department and develop sales strategy accordingly.
  • Producing reports on progress within the department and outline any developed strategies to improve.
  • Reporting directly to the Sales Manager on a daily / weekly basis.
  • Making outgoing 'cold calls' to prospective customers and following up leads generated, converting into bookings.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in event management.
  • Excellent written English and oral communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to produce high quality, accurate work in tight timescales with limited supervision.
  • Computer literate with experience of the Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A welcoming and helpful approach when dealing with members in person and over the telephone.
  • Marketing experience and an understanding of direct mail in promoting events.
  • Able to meet multiple project deadlines and good attention to detail.
  • Able to work individually as well as part of a team.
