NRL’s accountancy client based in Dunfermline is looking to recruit a Medical Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.

This role offers the opportunity to work within our clients health division, which focuses solely on the needs of clients in the health sector.
The Accounts Assistant is responsible for producing high standard accounts for manager and partner review regarding company clients i.e. – GP’s, Medical Practices, Dental Practices & Opticians.

Main Responsibilities:

- Accounts preparation work of sole traders and partnerships within our health division, ensuring the accuracy of completed accounts being provided to clients. This includes all aspects of the accounting process from both manual and computerised records.
- Planning and scheduling work to ensure that it is completed on time and within budget. Ensuring that all client information is obtained timeously, and all filling deadlines are met.
- Presenting managers with complete sets of accounts with minimal queries.
- Clearing review points and making adjustments to accounts.
- Building and maintaining client relationships.
- Liaising with the tax department.
- Undertake Xero demonstrations, set ups and training for clients (when appropriate level of knowledge is gained).
- Statistical analysis of sector results to maintain compliance with AISMA and NASDAL membership requirements.
- Keeping technically up to date.
- Other responsibilities include:
- Management accounts preparation.
- Liaise with tax department to ensure all appropriate tax information is shared between departments.
- Promote and maintain good relationships with clients and third parties and attend client meetings where appropriate.
- Utilise firms software in a paperless environment (CCH, SAPA, Sage Line 50, Xero) to maximise efficiency.
- Undertake Xero demos, set ups and training for clients (when appropriate level of knowledge gained).
- Support the operations and portfolio managers in providing excellent client service.

What you will need?

- Part-qualified Accountant (CA or ACCA)
- Experience of accounts preparation
- Good time management and the ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- IT literate including advanced Excel and preferably knowledge of Quickbooks, Xero and Sage
