We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for this exciting opportunity in a Company that operates within the UK Gas Distribution Industry. The Company has an outstanding reputation in the industry designing and manufacturing data and pressure control products that are used extensively across the UK gas distribution network.

Technical Sales Engineer - Ideal Candidates

* Candidates with a strong technical/engineering background already working in the UK Gas Distribution sector are ideal as the role requires a solid understanding of the Gas Distribution network and telemetry control relating to pressure management and fluid dynamics.

* Candidates from the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industries are also of interest

* Some sales experience is useful but as the role is more about providing technical Support to existing clients this is not truly essential.

Technical Sales Engineer - Role overview

* There are eight distribution networks throughout the British Isles which are owned by five clients Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, SGN and Wales & West Utilities.

* The main client for this role is Cadent. Cadent mainly covers the North-West, Midlands, South of London and Anglian regions

* The role is a mixture of home-based work whilst spending on average 2/3 days per week providing technical support to clients and on average one day per week at the firms’ HQ based in the Midlands

* Travelling to visit existing and potential clients

* Managing and interpreting client requirements

* Offering after-sales support services including technical support

* Calculating client quotations

* Making technical presentations

* Meeting regular sales targets

* Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences etc.

* Full training will be provided

Technical Sales Engineer – Benefits Package

* A starting salary of between £40,000 and £50,000pa

* An achievable annual bonus related to performance

* Fully expensed company vehicle (including a fuel card)

* 25 days’ holiday per year

Technical Sales Engineer – Candidate requirements

* Candidates from the UK Gas Distribution sector are preferred

* A strong technical/engineering background

* A relevant engineering qualification is preferred but not essential

* Outstanding client facing skills as you will be required to train client engineers about company products and installation processes

* Making technical presentations e.g. PowerPoint

* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

* You must be able to travel frequently spending on average 2-3 days per week away from home

* A full UK driving licence
