Responsibility for the organisations marketing activities, overseeing the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business, including business development and profitable growth across all B2C and B2B2C business lines.

Establish the department as an efficient, credible and proactive supplier of marketing services to the departmental Heads of Business.

Manage deliverables through 4 Direct Reports: Digital Marketing Manager, Market Insight Manager, Design & Brand Creative Manager, Events and Communication Manager.

Main Skills / Requirements:

A digital marketing expert, with proven competence and experience in the following fields:

  • Creation, execution and performance management of digital marketing strategies
  • Optimising and managing digital channels, including the areas of online advertising, Google Analytics, A/B testing, HTML, email software and other relevant marketing tools and techniques
  • Optimising qualified lead traffic to website, landing page and call centre sales channels through SEO, SEM, PPC and other digital marketing tools
  • Validate investment ensuring campaigns are effectively targeted through optimised media choices and competitive costs.
  • Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve reputation and recognition
  • Strategically focused, with a proven understanding of data interpretation and digital market requirements necessary to grow our volumes, share and profitability
  • Assertive and able to gain the confidence of the Line of Business heads, contributing to the creation of strong business plans
  • Engage as a subject matter expert on digital marketing with our business clients
  • Experienced in effectively managing agencies and contract partners
  • Advocate creativity and innovation, seizing opportunities to deliver a measurable step change improvement in the positioning and awareness of the Allianz Partner brand in the UK & Ireland markets
  • Proven leader and manager of teams, with a motivating and collegiate team-based style
  • Target setting experience, measuring delivery to specific timelines and quality metrics
  • Highly proficient and persuasive communicator, able to present both internally and externally

Key responsibilities:

Proactive Talent Management

  • Staff recruitment, interviewing and induction programmes
  • Regular one to ones and coaching
  • Identification of training and career development needs
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual appraisals
  • Any disciplinary or performance management issues in line with Company policy

Ensure profitable B2C sales growth:

  • Create the business plans (in conjunction with Line of Business heads) and marketing strategy for each B2C product line
  • Ensure the creative enables the product to stand out, with media planning to acquire customers at lowest cost, measuring ROI against specific targets
  • Analysis of competitors and consumer trends

Establish robust business approach to Renewals including campaign development for both B2C and B2B2C channels:

  • Lead working groups to research, propose and implement new initiatives to increase renewal revenue
  • Manage project teams to assess feasibility of strategic renewal campaigns - including online renewals, SMS, e-Marketing campaigns and outbound telesales
  • Devise communication strategies for retention of clients’ customers
  • Assure high quality business acquisition and retention proposals
  • Work with the Line of Business heads, ensuring responses to tenders are of high quality, professional presentational standards and delivered in innovative ways

Efficient planning and process control of workload

  • Project scheduling and work prioritisation
  • Prioritising tender deadlines/ responses to tender
  • Ensuring high performance delivery within allocated budgets
  • Monitor and review all elements of expenditure, reviewing practices and suppliers to ensure costs are controlled
  • Manage suppliers ensuring services are efficient, cost effective and in line with contract SLAs
  • Ensure robust processes and procedures are in place and understood by the Marketing team for all activities. Ensure auditable sign off control is in place for all work

Pro-active Communication, PR & Events:

  • Define the strategy for external corporate communication, exploiting all opportunities internally and externally with messages that are clear, consistent and professional
  • Manage messaging through an external PR agency to ensure strength of Allianz brand messages
  • Manage and improve internal communications (assisting the HR department as appropriate in the areas where they are responsible for internal communications)
  • Use targeted events to raise the business profile and cement stronger relationships with clients

High Quality Standards:

  • Certify all work created by the Marketing department meets the client (internal or external) brief provided
  • Ensure that production of all client (internal or external) marketing communication, adheres to client corporate identity and brand values

Education / Training / Qualifications:

Educated to Degree Level standard or equivalent

  • Proven track record of success within senior marketing roles
  • Experience of leading a Marketing team (including Digital) and high level decision making within commercial environment
  • B2B and B2B2C marketing experience
  • Ability to communicate confidently with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Organised with strong time management skills
  • Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Commercially astute and financially literate
  • Confident in delivering professional presentations utilising various media for maximum impact
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Creative with a commercial outlook
  • Ability to influence decisions through a diplomatic and personable style


  • Membership of relevant Industry professional bodies (CII / CIP)
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing
  • Experience of regulatory and FCA requirements
  • Contact Management System experience
  • Full (clean) driving licence
