Level 2 or above Permanent Nursery Nurse
Full time Nursery Nurse/Nursery Practitioner - Permanent - Level 2 or Level 3 qualified!
From £15,500 to £21,000 per annum (depending on qualification level and experience)
Quint Education is one of the leading agencies that work with day nurseries and children Centres in London and surrounding area. We are currently recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner to join an Ofsted rate "Good" nursery based in Norwood area (SE19).
About the setting
Based in a large house with 4 floors, on floor one there are two rooms, for babies and toddlers. There is now an extension in these rooms and there is a lot of space for staff to complete their activities.
On the second floor there is a transition room for toddlers before they go into preschool room.
Then floor 3 has 3 large rooms for preschool age group. Each room has separate activity areas that are based alongside the EYFS framework.
The 4th floor has a lovely staff area with free coffee, tea and a lovely Sofa to relax at lunch time.
Large outdoor area with many and equipment and toys for staff to use with children
Duties will be those as generally outlined below, together with duties as delegated by the Manager or Director to assist in the smooth running of Nursery and the overall development of the nursery and business.
Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3)s are responsible for ensuring that they perform their duties to the best of their ability in a professional and diligent manner. They must abide by any Act, legislation or Policies (internal or external) that may be in force.
Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3)s should be committed to achieving the clearly stated overall aims and objectives of the business with a vision to assisting with the expansion of business quality to underpin future business expansion.
Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3)s are Key Carers who care for key groups of children between the ages of 0 and 5 years under the general supervision of the Room Leader.
Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3)s work on the 'shop floor’, i.e., within the play environment. They are expected to play and interact with children at the child’s physical, emotional and developmental level.
Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3)s are expected to continually develop their skills.
Nursery Nurse (Level 2/3)s are expected to work in a positive manner at all times, positively role-modelling appropriate behaviour to children, parents, students and other staff members.
It is expected that all staff members continually develop their roles, and job descriptions, as necessary to ensure that duties etc reflect the ongoing improvement ethos of the nursery and overall business as well as the continually changing field of childcare.
Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications required for this post:
- NVQ 2/3 is the minimum level of qualification for Level 2/3 Nursery Nurses
- An ability to work with others at all levels
- An ability to work with parents and carers of children using the facility
- An understanding of curriculum to be delivered.
- To hold current and relevant first aid certificates that meets the needs of registering bodies such as Ofsted, Environmental Health etc.
