Production Commissioning Engineer
Hertfordshire

Role is a static role which involves supporting the Installation team prior to machines being installed. Our clients operate within the full life cycle.

As a Production Commissioning Engineer, you form a part of the manufacturing team and be responsible for the following;
* Work with product development to ensure a product design is fit for manufacture
* Define the manufacturing processes required to meet the quality / cost / volume targets
* Identify targets for improved quality or cost reduction
* Find and maintain suppliers that meet performance requirements
* Build sub and final assemblies configured to customer's requirements
* Power-up, test and commission products to processes
* Control stock levels to meet financial and sales forecast targets

Key Tasks;
* Working hands on to test, document and commission products using defined processes
* Liaising with build, commissioning and manufacturing engineers, the purchasing team, and other internal functions, as required, to maintain and improve the output of the manufacturing cell
* Negotiate, schedule and communicate the manufacturing priorities within the team
* Ensure that production documentation and instructions are correctly recorded and kept up-to-date

The role:
* Responsible for planning the work priorities of their area
* Working as part of a team to ensure work is completed to required schedules
* Instrumental in the team hitting work output and quality targets
* Batch release
* Involvement in production improvements
o Sharing responsibility for implementing continuous improvements in the Cell
o Involved in the implementation of lean manufacturing philosophies

Experience:
* Considerable knowledge of working in a technical environment within a high-tech engineering/manufacturing company
* Significant time spent in a precision assembly environment
* Extensive understanding of mechanical / electrical / electronic build and assembly
* Appreciation of precision mechanisms and their mechanical and electrical content
* Ability to read mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings
* Familiar with full range of mechanical engineering materials, finishes and tolerances
* Electrical experience of wiring, fault finding, electrical testing practices
* PC / IT literate with the range of Microsoft Office products and relevant hardware configure and test programs

Successful candidates should have a proven mechanical and electrical assembly skills along with good test abilities. Be Able to read & understand electrical and mechanical drawings. Able to plan own work schedules and effort and have strong problem solving skills.
