Payroll Administrator
£20,000 - £25,000

Our client, a leading organisation within the technology and consultancy sector, is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their dynamic team on a full time, permanent basis in Nottingham. The suitable candidate will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient payroll service to customers, ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employee’s salaries.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responding to customer requests, queries and complaints via telephone and email tickets in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Receiving and recording customer enquiries and providing basic information in response to customer requests
  • Ensuring data is received in the right format and in time to complete payrolls to agreed deadlines
  • Prioritising daily tasks to be accomplished; meeting SLA’s
  • Completing and owning payroll processing cycle for allocated customers
  • Calculating, preparing and transmitting manual payments and third-party disbursements
  • Running sample payrolls to ensure quality and resolve errors or deviations
  • Providing statistics for chargeable work to enable effective invoicing
  • Controlling the reconciliation processes
  • Checking system accuracy by performing manual calculations to agree system output
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers
  • Considering and escalating any new ideas which add value to the customers

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of Payroll policies and processes
  • Knowledge of the Service Centre processes (e.g. escalation procedures, service level agreements, customer service standards) ideal
  • Previous experience in a telephone-based customer service environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
