Our client is a global engineering company specialising in supplying the Aerospace and defence industry with a wide range of advanced technology applications. On their behalf TRF Technical are recruiting for a Commercial Officer to compliment their busy team.

Reporting to the Legal & Commercial Manager the Commercial Officer will co- ordinate a bid team with the relevant service, product and business knowledge required to prepare and manage winning world classbids. This role is end to end covering bid preparation and submission, contract management through the programme execution and aftermarket activities for the designated customer base.

Main Duties & Responsibilities include

  • Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from a variety of sources /experts internal and external tocompany
  • Preparing the commercial / financial aspects of thebid

  • Assist with production of final bid documents and arrangements to supply these documents to the customer within defined tenderdeadlines

  • Ensure bid and proposal documentation is formatted, collated and presented in a professionalmanner.

  • Taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process, with all necessary procedures and governance adherence / signoff

  • Understanding the rules oftendering

  • Administering a Bid / No Bid exercise to decide whether to make a submission ornot

  • Timely management of tenderactivities

  • Review of drafts and effectingimprovement

  • Copy-writing, where appropriate

  • Graphic design andpresentations

  • Obtaining feedback from purchasers when tenders are unsuccessful in order to improve infuture

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the designated customer base

  • Confident in dissecting RFPs and identifying frequently asked questions / similar previous proposals

Ideally Certified to APMP Practitioner or Professional level and with a minimum of 3 years experience gained in a similar role the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate;

  • Proven understanding and success of winning business through complex bids

  • Ability to communicate and influence at multiple levels within the Company

  • Good organisational, planning and estimation skills with the ability to multi task and monitor the activities of others

  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of MS software particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio
