If you’re a recently qualified GP or about to quality why not come and join us in South Tyneside! We have only 5 GP Career Start Fellowship posts available which provide a great opportunity to develop in a supportive, thriving and pro-active health and social care system.

These exciting posts allow you to:

  • Work full or part time depending on your preference.

  • The chance to create your own portfolio combining general practice with another clinical interest or undergraduate teaching .We only specify that at least 50% of total sessions worked must be general practice based.

  • To join us during an exciting time for primary care in developing new ways of working such as GPtoPharmacy, Think Pharmacy first and the Better Outcome Scheme.

  • To be part of a group of other GP fellows that can learn together and support each other

Salary Scale: £72,000 per annum pro rata

Location: Various GP practices of your choice in South Tyneside with area(s) of special interest potentially within the local hospitals, community services or university. Your contract of employment will be with the host GP practice.

Please note the Entry criteria as follows:

Applicants must be registered with a licence to practice, on the GP register and in good standing with the GMC. They must have qualified as a GP within the last two years and not be currently working as a salaried GP/partner in South Tyneside. The dedicated weekly special interest sessions are available for a maximum of three years.
