Embedded Electronics Engineer
Pathfindr a part of themission is an IoT technology company based in central Norwich. We specialise in tracking systems that provide asset intelligence for global clients such as Rolls-Royce. Our system comprises of proprietary hardware and software which we are continually developing to ensure our solution remains market-leading.
We are a small yet fast growing company and are looking to expand the team to support this growth. We are owned and backed by the AIM-listed group themission, who also own 16 other businesses across the UK, USA and Asia.
Pathfindr is looking for an Embedded Electronics Engineer to join the team in Norwich. The
role is full time (37.5 hours per week) and will report into the Chief Technology Officer with a
start date asap.
The recruitment process will involve an initial interview followed by a short test task on a
later date. There will be opportunity to view the Pathfindr offices and meet the rest of the team.
Essential Skills
* First class professional experience, 4 years minimum
* Strong embedded software engineering skills and toolchain experience.
* PCB design, ideally Eagle software based
* Low volume prototype fabrication
* Experience bringing a product to market, BOM selection and sourcing
* Experience with a variety of micro-controllers (ATMEL, NORDIC, NXP)
* Appreciation of Agile methodology
* Experience working with and helping define product roadmaps
* Experience of working within a regulatory environment is desirable
* Strong time management
* Comfortable with multi-tasking and problem-solving
* Can-do attitude and always willing to use own initiative with a proactive mindset
* Effective & confident communicator
Ideal Skills
* Experience with ARM MCUs, and ideally Nordic NRF series
* Practical experience in RF design, specifically GSM / GPS / BLE
* Practical experience in very low-power system design
* Experience with localisation technologies
* Experience with remotely managed devices
Key responsibilities
* Overseeing new products through concept, design, development and taking to
* market
* Detailed understanding of existing products and early identification of opportunities to
* upgrade and improve features and functionality
* Working closely with web software development team for system integrations
