Account Executive – £20,000 – London, UK

The Role

IP Publicity are looking to hire a motivated and driven Account Executive with a minimum of 6 month’s experience working in a PR agency, press office or fast-paced media environment. The candidate must be hugely motivated and have a keen interest in media, as well as influencers and lifestyle brands.

We also manage several our entertainment clients, and part of the role will be supporting on their accounts with endorsement deals, appearances, contracts and all the accompanying logistics. The key responsibilities of an Account Executive include, but are not limited to:

Writing press releases, news stories, articles, produce case studies and product pieces
Pitching press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online, to interest them in covering our clients’ stories
Responding to phone calls and emails from journalists
Arranging interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople and facilitate these meetings with our clients appropriate
Monitoring media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients
Attending client and industry events
Handling some of our clients’ social media accounts and delivering analytics reports on social media

The Person

The key skills and qualities of an Account Executive:

Outstanding communication skills in written and verbal English
Strong copywriting skills, such as grammar, proofreading and creative flair
Excellent presentation skills, able to communicate ideas to your team, present stories to journalists and organise information in a succinct and precise manner
Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent telephone manner, able to develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and clients
A resilient individual who is comfortable speaking to national journalists and can handle criticism and rejection, whilst also sticking to tight media deadlines and can manage several workstreams without compromising on quality
A relevant undergraduate degree is highly desirable but not essential
