Fresh Start are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Sutton - in - ashfield. Our client, part of the automotive industry are looking to recruit a CNC Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

Primary Purpose of Position

To provide maintenance and support to the secondary operations facility, maintaining equipment, both electronically and mechanically and performing preventative maintenance.

Major Responsibilities of Position

* Maintain a safe working environment: Performing duties in a safe, efficient and proper manner. Applying and meeting all applicable codes, standards and/or regulations when doing work.

* Records: Preparing and maintaining records of program changes, building electrical upgrades and equipment electrical upgrades. Maintain daily record of work completed.

* Maintenance Tasks: Maintaining and repairing plant equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities. Support all teams in crisis management situations i.e. breakdowns. Take part in the preventative maintenance requirements on the equipment. [ Equipment such as electrical devices, hydraulic and pneumatic devices and all types of onsite services (gas, water, electric and compressed air etc.)]

* Training: Participating in training and skill transfer programs for apprentices and production associates with regular review of the practical training progress.

* Other duties as required including special projects as they arise.

Educational and Certification Background

* Time-served apprenticeship with HND/HNC or similar in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Essential

* 17th Edition BS7671

Highly Desirable

* CNC Programming - Siemens

Highly Desirable

* 5+ years’ experience in a die cast, automotive, or manufacturing environment in similar role

Essential

Personal Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes):

* Strong background in troubleshooting hydraulic systems.

* PLC experience

* CNC programming

* Experience working with 3, 5 and multi-axis CNC’s

* Be capable of troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, change faulty components, and process troubleshooting.

* Be capable of troubleshooting all aspects of electrical equipment, repair or exchange faulty components

* Show maturity, good judgment, reliability, verbal and written communication skills

* Knowledge of applicable government codes, rules and regulations and to keep abreast of updates.

* Knowledge of company policies & procedures.

* Be familiar with and adhere to all applicable safety legislation

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Salary: £32,500 per annum
