Mechanical Project Engineer
The Mechanical Project Engineer role: We are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Lead / Engineer to be based at our Gosport site, located near Portsmouth. Working as part of the Capital Projects Delivery team this role has responsibility for leading Mechanical Engineering tasks within the Gosport Tank Farm Development Project, and ensuring mechanical compliance of the delivered project.
Acting as Mechanical Lead for the OPA Capital Projects team, and working alongside the Company Mechanical Technical Authority, this role entails overseeing professional contract engineers or consultant companies, from design to construction, who conduct engineering activities on behalf of OPA, ensuring that all works are completed to the correct codes and standards.
Mechanical Project Engineer Responsibilities:
* Ensure Mechanical Engineering activities within Capital Projects are completed, fully compliant with company policies, procedures and legal requirements, particularly safety and ensuring safe systems of work.
* Plan and manage the programme of works for Mechanical tasks associated with Capital Projects delivery in line with company standards and relevant UK / European legislation.
* Produce detailed programme of works/Gantt charts etc.
* Provide budget proposals for Project spends and work collaboratively with Finance to provide management information for monthly reporting.
* Develop Mechanical scopes of work and Company Standards
* Report on activities and provide relevant management information.
The candidate: A Chartered Engineer, with a degree qualification or HNC with relevant experience from Tank Farm Fuel Storage within a COMAH regulated industry/operation, you will have a strong working knowledge of COMAH and CDM regulations, plus a thorough understanding of the MOC process.
As well as previous experience of managing multiple site works, you will have the ability to build strong credible working relationships with all members of an integrated project delivery team, including internal stakeholders and in particular HSSEQ, other Engineering colleagues as well as with external stakeholders including our O&M Contractor, HSE, EA and our MOD Sponsors. As there will be some occasional travel involved candidates will need a full driving licence.
