Job Responsibilities & Duties :

Reporting to the Head of Estates this role will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of the portfolio of projects at the facility focusing on contract including lifecycle projects, Trust Variations, Sundry and Minor Works and transformation projects. Managing a portfolio of numerous live projects by ensuring that effective systems are in place for the control, monitoring and prioritisation of the portfolio in support of achieving successful delivery and business growth objectives.

This is a Contract wide post to support the organisation in taking projects through the entire project life cycle from inception, through approval and successful delivery to close. This will include both leading and governing improvement and transformation projects across the organisation with the explicit aim of ensuring both quality and efficiency. The post holder will be a core member of the Senior Management Team and Change Board and oversee / undertake several large and complex projects ensuring effective and detailed implementation plans, delivery and governance.

The post holder will be required to monitor interdependencies between projects and manage these effectively as part of a formal programme via the Portfolio team.

My client requires robust management and control of its project portfolio to ensure safe, successful and profitable delivery of Trust, Client and/or service provider changes. With the requirements from each party likely to continue to increase in future years, the need for close and rigorous management is essential to support each party to meet its objectives and ambitions for change and development.

The existing portfolio of programmes and projects is split across a number of key areas:

• Lifecycle projects

• Trust Variations

• Transitions

• Transformations

• Service Improvements

• Sundry Works

• Minor Works

The Change Manager role is therefore key in bringing together the full portfolio to provide a single view, allow for appropriate allocation of resources, prioritisation of all projects across the portfolio and to develop and manage key relationships within the Contract and across the wider service provider group.

Candidate Specification :

The successful candidate will need to have operational experience and have specialist knowledge of managing projects in a clinical environment (including budget management), with proven expertise of delivering tangible benefits. A relevant degree and PRINCE 2 Practitioner qualification are required.
