Data Intelligence Specialist, transform the workplace, Cheltenham, base up to £41k with no core hours, flexible working and up to 12 TOIL days.

Our client, a high profile organisation in the higher education sector with reach into central government requires a Data Intelligence Specialist to play a key role in delivering value to customers through data intelligence products, services and insight content.

Working within the Enterprise team, the successful candidate will help the team unlock value in huge data sets.

Data Intelligence Specialist - Specific areas of responsibility:

Undertake and interpret complex analysis of higher education data for external clients utilising advanced SQL data manipulation

*

Manage work for internal and external customers. Identifying suitable analytical and statistical solutions, undertaking the analysis and delivering results

*

Provide expert advice to customers who require complex data analysis from specification to delivery

*

Use of analytics tools (e.g. Tableau) to generate data visualisations for use in reports and data products

*

Identify external data sources to combine with client data to enhance insight and facilitate complex quantitative analysis

*

Develop expertise in advanced and specialist analytical techniques, training and assisting team members and customers in solution finding

*

Use technical expertise to identify improvements and to automate analytical processes

The successful candidates will have the following experience:

*

Querying and manipulating data using query tools and languages, such as SQL (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL)

*

Data manipulation, such as data mining, matching, cleansing

*

Longitudinal analysis of data sets utilising probabilistic matching techniques

*

Knowledge of statistical techniques and their application

*

Ability to use data visualisation tools to present key findings

Training will be provided to get the right Data Intelligence Specialist candidate up to speed, however, we are particularly interested to hear from people with a strong understanding of the UK higher education sector and its key data resources, as well as anyone with experience of agile or lean working practices.
