Are you a confident, communicative, and computer literate individual with demonstratable experience in accounts? If so, we have an exciting opportunity here at NSF for you to join our finance team as a Credit Controller, where you will develop, implement and maintain an effective and professional credit control system for the company group.
You will have the opportunity to undertake the following responsibilities:
Review the company credit control procedure and develop and implement enhancements where required
To manage the outstanding sales balances falling due and contact customers before the balances become overdue to confirm payments
Where required initiate proceedings to ensure outstanding debts are bought to a satisfactory conclusion
To keep the company up to date with new credit management procedures and techniques
Provide monthly reports to management on debtor performance and problem customers
Work closely with the business to ensure reports provided are in a valuable format and work with the users of the reports to make sure the information sharing process is meaningful
Liaise with other departments to discuss particular reasons why some clients have not paid and ensure that any appropriate accounting action is carried out by the relevant people in the department to secure payment by the client
Raise invoices and credit notes as instructed
Keep open dialogue with the Finance Manager on any difficult debts and specific bad debts.
Open new customer accounts on the customer database
Maintain knowledge of VAT rules with regard to the provision of services and advise users when required
Other duties as required in order to maintain Finance department functionality
We are looking for an individual with the following experience, abilities, and qualifications:
Able to demonstrate experience within accounts receivable
Experience of providing Credit Control to organisations with a turnover in excess of £1million preferable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Computer literate to an intermediate level, especially with Microsoft Office
A good understanding of Oracle, Word and Excel would be preferred
Motivated, willingness to learn and positive attitude
Show commitment to personal and team development
