Our client school is one of the larger schools in the area with over 1400 students currently on roll, with the capacity for an extra 200 students to enrol, with expectancies that this upcoming Year 7 cohort will be the largest yet. The school was formed in 2010, when two local schools merged into an academy to ensure that all students from the local areas could access state of the art facilities and the best provisions possibly to further their learning. Since, the appointment of the new Principal, the school has placed a large focus on individualised learning and full class teaching is supported by intervention plans throughout English and Maths, ensuring teaching can be targeted effectively.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an English department that is currently leading in progress and attainment across the school through careful and effective strategies and innovative work schemes, with possibilities to progress into middle-management in academic or pastoral roles.

“Students are now making better progress at Key Stage 3 and particularly where teaching is consistently good. The reading recovery programme is having a positive impact in improving students’ literacy skills in Years 7 and 8.” – Ofsted
