Senior IT Helpdesk Engineer (Team Lead), Abingdon, £Excellent Salary plus benefits:

Are you a strong 2nd Line IT Support Engineer who is looking to gain exposure to 3rd line and team leading?

A blue chip cutting edge technology company based in Abingdon is looking to recruit a new Senior IT Helpdesk Engineer to join a professional internal IT department. This positon will give the successful person the chance to develop their experience into team leading whilst remaining hands on technical at a 2nd line level but also dealing with some 3rd line queries and projects.

The role:

On a daily basis you’ll provide a second line support of all software and hardware issues to internal customers as well as being a Team Lead for two other Helpdesk Engineer’s (one 1st line and one 2nd line). You’ll be responsible for the executing of standard operational procedures (e.g. system back-ups), Installation of computer hardware and software, project manage the implementation of technical projects. Other areas of the role will include maintenance, development and support of network infrastructure.

IT Projects:

Please note that there are some exciting projects on the horizon either for you to manage or be part of, Windows 10 upgrade, Server 2008R2 upgrade, Office365 upgrade and a Hardware refresh project.

About you:

The successful Senior IT Helpdesk Engineer will need to demonstrate good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows client/desktop operating systems (from XP and above); Microsoft Windows Server/network administration and support (2003/2008 and Active Directory Services); PC/server hardware, telephony (PBX), and TCP/IP and Microsoft and general desktop application software (MS Office 2003 and above). Any IT qualifications would enhance your application but is not essential. Excellent communication skills is essential for this position as you’ll be speaking with a range of internal customers who have a varied background. Any experience of team leading, supervising or technical leadership within a helpdesk role will be highly desirable.
