SLT Education recruitment are pleased to be working exclusively with a large alternative provision based in Birmingham who are looking to appoint an interim Head of centre for their one of their Secondary sites. The school is a well-established centre for children aged 11 – 16 with a range of behavioural social and emotional difficulties and currently has around 40 pupils. As a head of centre you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the children and staff in your care by following strict safeguarding processes. In addition you will be instrumental in ensuring children at the school make significant progress both emotionally and academically. You will be reporting to the Headteacher and will have responsibility for the pastoral and operational running of your individual centre.



Successful candidates will:

- Have recent leadership experience in a mainstream or alternative provision school
- Be able to drive standards up in terms of; Curriculum and attendance.
- Prioritise and manage their time effectively
- Be organised and can multi task effectively
- Be able to effectively delegate relevant tasks where necessary
- Have a professional approach
- Communicate and live the existing whole school vision and values
- Be able to work independently
- Have a thorough understanding of safeguarding in schools and can ensure all policies and processes are being followed to ensure the safety of staff and children
- Have worked with children with a number of behaviour challenges
- Be able to manage a small team effectively
- Be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Be able to manage working across a multi-site school
- Ensure standardised processes are followed correctly by all staff and children including the timetabling and curriculum
- Be willing to grow and develop as a leader, to learn new skills that will help the school achieve their goals
- Be able to work collaboratively with other heads of centre

Please note, that this is an interim role and will be paid via SLT Education. For this reason you will need to register fully with SLT Education before attending an interview with the school.
