The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk Oversight and Assurance Manager to join our Customer Services Team. In this role, you will be accountable for providing independent oversight and opinion on operational risk managed by our Customer Savings and Investments (CS&I) business and our outsourced partners. You will lead a team of risk professionals and support the Head of Risk by facilitating the oversight of the management of operational and regulatory risks within our business. You will support CS&I by undertaking proactive risk management for the business area, anticipating and assessing the potential impacts of operational and regulatory risk together with the effective operation and management of the first line of defence risk framework. You will have an understanding of the CS&I business to help them understand and assess the impact of change from a risk perspective. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for leading the application of the risk framework across the CS&I business, providing expertise to the business area from an operational and regulatory risk perspective. To lead the design, implementation and undertaking of end to end risk assessments, quality assurance and control testing to identify risk and assess the effectiveness of controls. Pull upon multiple sources of insight, data, experience and journey performance analytics to ensure the risk profile of CS&I is assessed and understood. Where risk profile does not meet CS&I appetite, lead and influence discussions to invoke the relevant remediation plans with business stakeholders. Responsible for operating and driving a culture of risk and controls awareness within the CS&I business including active communication, guidance and training. Support senior leaders in Prudential to ensure they understand and fulfil their roles and responsibilities for management of operational and regulatory risk. To advise and support change programmes and risk assessments from a first line of defence perspective and manage risk related projects / initiatives on behalf of CS&I Act as point of escalation for all matters relating to Risk within CS&I Demonstrate leadership behaviours which inspire and challenge others to develop and meet our collective risk management responsibilities To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in Prudential UK's operational risk. You will have: Knowledge of risk governance and risk mitigation techniques within a financial services environment Expert understanding of Prudential's operating model and out sourced services in particular, where internal processes, systems and working practices present risks relating to customer delivery Strong network (internal and external) covering operational and regulatory risk requirements Knowledge of effective operational risk management, frameworks and oversight within a Financial service environment Experience of risk management and influencing a range of senior stakeholders and business leaders with competing interests / knowledge to achieve the right outcome Experience in developing and maintaining strong influential working relationships internally and externally across organisational boundaries Understanding of Operational and Regulatory risk management within an operational environment Experience of identifying and anticipating potential concerns for key stakeholders and using multiple approaches and strategies to gain support for action Experience in deciphering the "bigger" picture and disseminating that into prioritised outcomes and actions Experience of motivating a team to deliver complex work in a challenging environment Stakeholder Management and the ability to challenge operational experts from a risk perspective Collaborate to drive the right outcome by collaborating across the immediate team and broader functions to lead initiatives and ensure risk is seen as an integral part of every team Persistent and resilient in the face of challenge and able to command the confidence of stakeholders Provide insight and have a pragmatic approach to decision making and prioritisation from a risk perspective People who work at M&GPrudential agree that ours is a great place to work with a brilliant team spirit.
