The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of PMO to join our Transformation and Innovation Team. The Transformation & Innovation team joins up our capabilities, processes and governance across Change and IT to provide both a strategic capability plus a leading edge technology footprint to support the transformation of Prudential UK and delivery of our Vision for 2020. The role of the function is to collaborate across the business to initiate, design and manage strategic change for Prudential UK in a holistic manner. The function will also focus on providing affordable and reliable technology solutions and services that will very much be at the heart of Prudential's business success. The Head of PMO will be instrumental in providing proactive support to the Heads of Change. In this role, you will ensure the Transformation and Innovation team administer and monitor projects in such a way that ensures cost, quality, schedule, and benefits realisation are controlled and achieved. This will be achieved by ensuring that all projects adhere to the best practices & standard approaches for project management. You will develop and implement best practices to enable the successful delivery of a broad range of projects to stakeholders across the business . Key Responsibilities: To develop and maintain a suite of PMO services to support the successful execution of programmes across the Transformation & Innovation team . Maintain effective relationships with Heads of Change, key business stakeholders and sponsors and where required 3 rd parties. Line management and development of PMO teams across several mission critical programmes, directly managing around 10 - 15 resources. Maintain a project support framework which provides clear and consistent services and deliverables to all programmes. Develop a reporting framework which ensures timely reporting of key performance indicators across all programmes. Execute effective governance oversight over PSO staff ensuring standards of support are being maintained. Undertake effective assurance across all programme deliverables, including planning, risk and issue management, dependency management and cost and benefit projections. Work in partnership with the Transformation Office ensuring standards are being adhered to and developing best practice where improvements are identified. Maintain a level of insight across all programme deliveries to input into senior forums and Committees. You will have: Experience of managing large scale programmes/projects in a financial services regulated environment Experience of Change Management methodologies and techniques (e.g. AGILE and/or PRINCE2) Leadership/Management qualifications Experience of leading a PMO team of 10+ PMO resources Experience of workload prioritisation and working within a fast paced environment Experience of monitoring and reporting in a Programme environment Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations Experience of resolving conflicts within project environments and across stakeholder groups Maintain effective relationship with third party suppliers Working knowledge of risk management principles and their impacts on projects Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills People who work at M&GPrudential agree that ours is a great place to work with a brilliant team spirit.
