The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Scientist to join our Transformation and Innovation Team within Customer Savings and Investments in Stirling, London or Reading. In this role you will be designing and building solutions that delivery key insights to our business, operations and customer behaviour. You will use advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms to develop solutions that are data rich and use learning loops to improve. You will have the opportunity to shape and work on some of the most cutting-edge digital/cloud based architectures in development today. This will be a key role in the design and delivery of leading edge applications and insights within an agile environment. With an emphasis on hands-on design and development, you will be responsible for leading development whilst seeding your experience and approach to support blended client and 3 rd party teams in the delivery of modern financial software solutions. Key Responsibilities: As a Data Scientist, you will be joining a talented Agile team working in an Agile environment (following TDD/BDD processes) You will be performing multiple roles in a cross-functional agile team You will apply machine learning techniques to deliver actionable insights from large-scale, multi- structured datasets . You will build AI engines consisting of ML models that incorporate real-world learning loops You will work under minimal supervision with internal and external teams to respond to business requirements. You will be responsible for model development, including data exploration, training data, feature extraction and model development, validation and scoring. You will collaborate with other Data Scientists and Developers to deliver fantastic business outcomes at pace. You will have : Machine Learning: Strong background in at least one specific machine learning area. Solid mathematical background, especially in linear algebra . Coding: Excellent skills in at least one procedural language (for instance, but not limited to Python or similar). Specific machine learning experiences in these languages must be listed. Comfortable with command-line tools. Clear track record of programming on large data sets required. Deep learning experience using at least one of the most popular frameworks is a plus. We are NOT looking for Bl, Visualisation, ETL and Data engineers without any machine learning experience. Passionate and inherently curious about data, insights and learning algorithms Comfortable working with stakeholders and domain experts to model problem domains Comfortable in constantly changing atmosphere and an unwavering focus on delivering business outcomes. You will be passionate and have good knowledge in software development practices and principles.
