British Menswear Clothing Group, requires a temporary to permanent Financial Accountant to manage their 4 brands, based in their central London head office. You will support the Financial Controller to ensure that the UK accounting records for their brands are being accurately maintained. You will produce legal and management accounts, and supporting schedules, on a monthly basis in line with UK and Group reporting requirements and deadlines and ensure queries are resolved. Prepare the annual statutory accounts and liaise efficiently with the company's auditors and effectively manage and coach a part-qualified Assistant Accountant.

Accounting

*Review all fixed asset journals, accruals / prepayments.
*Review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
*Periodically analyse and post provisions for obsolete or slow-moving stock.
*Reconcile inter-Group accounts on a monthly basis.
*Review and challenge seasonal line-list data (i.e. estimated product cost) and ensure accuracy of upload into accounting system.
*Ensure all sampling costs are being accurately accrued for.
*Ensure all wholesale trade discounts, chargebacks, contributions and returns are being accurately accrued for.
*Prepare semi-annual financial reporting packs, and supporting schedules and analysis, required by the Trinity Limited Group, based in Hong Kong.
*Prepare annual statutory accounts for all UK registered companies.
*Prepare ad hoc analysis and information, when required.
*Liaise with the Financial controller to develop and deliver ad hoc training to the finance team.
*Keep up to date with changes in accounting rules and policies (including IFRS and FRS102) and ensure any transitions or adjustments are carried out.
*Manage and coach the Assistant Accountant.
*Liaise with auditors, as well as tax and pension advisors.
*Maintain a complete and accurate record of periodic accounts, leases, business contracts, licenses and other agreements, in both digital and physical form and ensure that all transactions are accurately reflected in the accounts.
*Prepare monthly legal and management accounts by company/brand.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience in a retail / consumer or similar role. Audit experience is essential for this role. They use Navison and Dynamics 365 would be an asset, but not essential. You will be self-motivated, with good technical skills and excellent attention to detail.

This is a temporary to permanent role, starting as soon as possible for a handover with the person who's moving on.
