Personal Tax Job, Reputable CA Firm, Scottish Borders, £dependent-on-experience + flexible working Your new company Your new company is a reputable and friendly firm of Chartered Accountants. With several offices across the Scottish Borders and approximately 40 staff, the firm offers a range of services - for example, Accounting and Bookkeeper, Tax, Audit and Assurance, Corporate Finance and Wealth Management - to a local and diverse client base, inclusive of family and owner-managed businesses, small to medium enterprises and high net worth individuals. Industries include but are not exclusive to agriculture and tourism-related sectors. The option to operate out of various offices is also available. Due to the rare occurrence of a staff member leaving (due to relocation), the firm is recruiting within their Private Client Tax Team. Your new role You will operate within the Personal Tax Team and be responsible for a portfolio of private and partnership clients. This will involve managing the compliance process whilst advising on tax liabilities. You will also liaise with HMRC and other relevant third parties. Further to this, there will be the opportunity to be involved with or lead on more complex advisory projects on behalf of trustees, business owners, individuals, farmers, landowners and partnerships. You will also provide support to more junior members of staff and trainees. What you'll need to succeed You will have a proven track record within tax and have worked recently within a Chartered Accountancy firm for at least two years. A relevant qualification, for example ATT, CTA, ACCA, ACA or CA, will enhance your application and potential salary. In addition, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and a desire to provide excellent client service.
