Bookkeeper / VAT Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced book keeper with accountancy practice experience. You will be a crucial member of our book keeping team assisting with our increasing workload. The role will predominantly consist of the following duties: Book keeping: Assist in the migration of clients to new accounting software with a particular emphasis on XERO. Advising clients on improving efficiency and the best use of cloud and associated technologies. Training clients on the use of cloud bookkeeping software and associated Apps. Supporting clients and answering queries regarding accounting software. Visiting clients to demonstrate and explain the benefits of software solutions. Explaining Making Tax Digital and it’s impact for both current and prospective clients. Provision of training sessions with internal staff whilst assisting with any queries. Developing the use of cloud software to streamline working practices and procedures. Researching new solutions and Apps. Accountancy: Preparation of VAT calculations for various VAT schemes. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop within a busy and friendly SME moving towards a rapidly evolving digital age within the accountancy profession. We offer continued training in both accounts and taxation preparation for those candidates that wish to expand their career horizons. A proven track record on accounting software with a particular emphasis on XERO, along with preparing VAT Returns is essential, as is excellent communication skills and an intermediate skill set on MS Word and Excel. A Full driving licence is essential for this positon.
