Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a public sector organisation based in the City Centre in the recruitment of a Finance Officer to cover extra workloads. Working as part of the Internal Audit Team with overall involvement of the organisations finance operation you will be AAT or part CCAB qualified. Other finance qualifications may be considered. Currently the role is until the end of July 2019 however there is a strong possibility that this will extend further.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience and job satisfaction whilst working in a professional finance support service. Our client are looking to attract enthusiastic and motivated candidates who as part of the Internal Audit team, will be responsible for initially reviewing the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes within the resources portfolio.

A brief overview of key responsibilities will include:

• Conduct audit assignments within allocated timeframe and resources (and Public Sector Internal Audit Standards), covering:
- Research
- Planning & production of Terms of Reference
- Producing expected controls and testing plan
- Performing fieldwork
- Conducting closure meetings and presentation of findings and recommendations
- Producing and finalising the report
- Issuing customer satisfaction questionnaires

• Perform work in respect of grant reviews, special projects, data matching and investigations (re-active and pro-active). Including contribution to the setting of objectives and determination of work to be performed.
• Liaise and maintain good working relationships with, for example, External Audit, Senior Officers, Members, third party providers.
• Provide advice and guidance upon request.
• Assist with the training of new/junior staff.

You will be commercially aware and have previous experience in and internal audit or finance environment.
